Koala Game Diary – April 15, 2008

Posted by koalabears on April 15, 2008

Sorry for the delay between posts folks. Have been extremely busy gaming and working in the hospital. Plus, the weather is starting to get nice outside, so I’ve been venturing outside and seeing this long dormant object called the sun. Anyway, onto my gaming updates.

  • Professor Layton – Proving that my brain is working well (despite what my wife may have you believe), I conquered this awesome game and its 100+ puzzles. My favorite puzzle involved transporting people back and forth between an island and a sinking ship. My least favorite was the one involving counting triangles. All you who have played the game know what I am talking about. If you got a DS and want to work on puzzles that really train your brain and test logic, definitely get this game.

  • Lost Odyssey – 50 hours later, I beat Gongora and saved the world…again. O, so it may not be the most original RPG ever, but it was pretty damn fun to play. I also did so many sidequests that apparently super-leveled my characters to the point that the end boss was a cake walk. I’m not even sure I had to heal during it. Oh well, better to be more powerful than to be too weak when facing the boss. My brother suffered from the latter during FFVII and had to play my game to finish it. Hahaha!
  • OK, now that I beat those games, I finally was able to move onto Final Fantasy X, a long-time member of my shame gaming profile. Everyone has one of these. They are the games that you know you should play because they are just that good, but have never gotten around to for one reason or another. Thus far, I’m about 6 hours into it and it’s pretty solid. Voice acting may be commonplace now, but I can only imagine how cool it would have been to hear it back in the early 2000’s. Anyway, this will probably suck up 40+ hours of time or so.

Up next, more FFX. Still gotta finish Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Galaxy….
